Like, you know OMG, What is the Cloud?
Cloud this...cloud that. SOHOs are fansinated with it, geeks can't oversell it enough, Oracles CEO Larry Elision Hates it, and IT employees fear it, but what is it? Well, the cloud is any Software as a Service (SaaS) which is vastly dependent on three things:
1. A High Speed Internet Connection
2. Remote & Random Location Data Storage
3. The Bulk, if not all, of the Computer Processing is is handled remotely.
You may be saying, "Nerd, thats great, but it didn't really help." Ok, you either get the software for free or you rent it, and you can run it all from a cheap laptop, netbook, or cell phone. But most importantly as a SOHO, you don't have to waste $100,000 or more on this, and just maybe you can fire this guy. So do I have your attention now?
PS:
Of course if I had this type of problem in my server room, I wouldn't mind being in there all the time.
